The Concord Band, former Assistant Conductor
Christopher Morehouse is band director at Belmont High
School. He is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Music Education. He holds a Master’s Degree in Wind
Ensemble Conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music,
where he studied with Mr. Frank Battisti. Mr. Morehouse directs
the high school Symphonic Band, Freshman Band, Jazz Ensemble, and
Marching Band, and teaches fourth and fifth grade brass and
percussion.
Before moving to the Boston area, Mr. Morehouse was middle
school band director in Amityville, New York. He is a member of
the Music Educators National Conference, Massachusetts Music
Educators Association, International Association of Jazz
Educators, and the International Trombone Association. Mr.
Morehouse also serves on the executive board of the Massachusetts
Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) as the
chairperson of the commissioned works project.
