Fanfare and Chorale, "Laudes Domini"

Concord Band commission (1999)

William Gordon, composer

Fanfare and Chorale, "Laudes Domini" was commissioned by the Concord Band in 1999. That year, the Concord Band commissioned composer William Gordon to score this work, originally composed for brass band, for symphonic band. The work is based on a tune composed by Sir J. Barnby (1814-1878).

William Gordon has composed many works for brass and concert bands. A former conductor of the Pasadena Tabernacle Band of the Salvation Army, Mr. Gordon now travels extensively as a guest conductor and lecturer. He has degrees in conducting and composition from California State University in Los Angeles.
