Concord Band Winter Concert will Soar with Soloists from the United
States Air Force Band of Liberty
The Concord Band will perform its annual winter concert on Saturday,
March 2, 2002 at 8:00 PM at 51 Walden St., Concord.
This year's concert will feature two soloists from the United States Air
Force Band of Liberty from nearby Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA.
Airman First Class John Garcia II and Airman First Class Eric Spinelli
both play the euphonium in the United States Air Force Band of Liberty's
Concert Band and Ceremonial Band.
Airman Garcia will perform Rhapsody for Euphonium and Concert Band with
the Concord Band and with his wife, Jennifer Garcia, a trumpet player in
the Concord Band.
Airman Garcia and Airman Spinelli will perform an arrangement for two
euphoniums and band of All Those Endearing Young Charms.
The Air Force Band of Liberty is the first assignment for both Airman
Garcia and Airman Spinelli, and the Concord Band is thrilled to welcome
them to our community.
The Concord Band's Music Director, Dr. William G. McManus, will conduct
the concert band classic Second Suite by Holst and, in celebration of
Richard Rogers' 100th birthday, Victory at Sea.
The Concord Band's Assistant Conductor, Christopher Morehouse, will lead
the band in a Spanish march called Sol y Sombra and in a piece featuring
Cajun folk songs.

The Concord Band, founded in 1959, is one of the leading community concert
bands in the United States.
It is well known for its innovative programming and the exceptional
quality of its commissioned pieces.
It presents both formal and Pops concerts throughout the year.
Its summer concerts at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, Massachusetts, are
attended by more than 10,000 people each year.
