Meet the Concord Band
CONCORD, MA June 15, 2004
Get to know the Concord Band as it kicks off its summer season at the
Fruitlands Museum in Harvard on Thursday, June 24th. This week's concert
features a festive collection of circus marches, Broadway show-stoppers,
and other foot-tapping favorites. Featured soloist is vocalist Cynthia
Cobb-Sullivan, who enchants listeners with her renditions of "Over the
Rainbow", "More Than You Know", and other standards.
The Concord Band performs at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, MA every
Thursday night through July 29th at 7:30 PM. The gates open at 5:00
PM. Bring a picnic supper or purchase grilled items and snacks on
site. $12.00 Parking Fee, $10.00 for Museum Members.
The Concord Band, founded in 1959, is one of the leading community
concert bands in the United States. It is well known for its innovative
programming and the exceptional quality of its commissioned pieces. It
presents both formal and Pops concerts throughout the year. Its summer
concerts at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, Massachusetts, are attended by
more than 10,000 people each year. The band's Music Director is
Dr. William G. McManus.
